Magic Hair

There was a very brief time when I had wool locks plaited into my hair. I spent a whole day installing them, but a week later, my home made dandelion and burdock ale exploded all over them, and I had to take them out. I just couldn't go through the agonising process of doing them again. It's much easier to just attach the wool locks to a hair band and wrap them around a ponytail. This look has been popular in the goth subculture for a long time, and I don't really know why. I guess it's just an easy way to add colour and texture to your hair. I've been dying my hair since I was 16, and had just about every colour possible. I was into alternative subculture as a teen, particularly goth and punk, and spent a few years of my early 20s being "emo" before sliding into a more "indie twee" look. I have found the need to assimilate into mainstream culture for the sake of work, and appear as normal as possible for the boss. They do tend to remark that I...

Full Moon in Sagittarius

The key word for the astrological sign of Sagittarius is "independence". Sagittarius is the sign of the philosopher and the explorer. The main challenge for Sagittarius however is emotional intelligence. Sagittarius struggles to connect on an emotional level with others, to be emotionally intimate with others as well as their own heart. For this reason, the energy of Sagittarius can seem aloof or distant, always on the move and never wanting to settle down, abrupt and often tactless. The strength of Sagittarius is a fearless drive to explore and to treat life as a great adventure.  The tarot card that I pulled for this full moon was The Hermit. Here we see the independent nature of Sagittarius as they embark upon their spiritual journey. A fearless adventurer, the solitary mystic holds a fiery lamp to light the way. What this tells me is that the full moon in Sagittarius is an important time to travel inward and reconnect with the fire therein. Spend some time alone,...

The Magician - One

It's no secret that I'm pretty fucking magic. By that, what I mean is that I have the ability to get shit done in a creative and exciting way. I believe we all have magic powers. I'm not talking about supernatural abilities, I'm talking about our every day power to make stuff happen. Magic is the art of change and influence. My daily performance of taking charge of my own life might seem like miracle working. But what am I really doing? How does the trick work? Tarot of Marseilles If we translate the French name for this card, it is the "sleight of hand artist" or "illusionist". This card points toward the fact that we are living in a world of illusion, or false perception. It seems to us that the world is made up of separate parts, of opposites, of polarity. We feel ourselves to be individuals who are separate from the rest of the world. This is the illusion of ego. The number One represents the individuality of a separate "I" or ...

Greetings

Hello everybody I suppose I better start blogging again! I was blogging over at wordpress for a little while but I just couldn't get to grips with the format. I like that this blog is easily linked to my other accounts, it gets automatically shared with my twitter and facebook, so that makes life easier. So what is this blog all about? Basically, this is my online diary where I can write about the stuff I'm doing. I often share pictures and things on my facebook page, but my blog enables me to go into more detail and write several paragraphs, if you're interested in reading more about what I do. What is the purpose of my art? When I was a little kid, I wanted to become an artist so that I could communicate the lovely things in my imagination with the rest of the world. I wanted to bring the imaginary to life. This is why I do what I do, because I believe in the importance of imagination. What you have in your head is not insignificant. The thoughts and images that po...
